The company & team

Our founding team has worked together before, with multiple successful outcomes and exits. We love startups because they’re the ultimate act of creation: envisioning something that should be and building it from scratch. Over the years we’ve learned what to expect:

  • It’s a messy process.
  • It never proceeds in a straight line.
  • It always involves uncomfortable compromises.
  • It’s not a deliberate product; it emerges from the effort.
  • It looks different and better than what was originally envisioned.

In our vision, a great company:

  • Achieves worthy goals.
  • Does the right things well.
  • Generates financial growth and profit.
  • Creates process to enable competence rather than protect against incompetence.
  • Attracts and retains great people with clear purpose, empowered to do their job.

We want to hire great people, and we know what great people look like

  • They’re smart, born with an unfair intellectual advantage.
  • They’re collaborative, unselfishly contributing to a group that becomes more capable collectively than individually. They find it more important to succeed than to be right.
  • They’re optimistically competent, focusing on how to get things done rather than the barriers in their way.
  • They’re natural leaders, performing at their peak when needed and making everyone around them better.

The offer

We offer competitive salary, early-stage equity, good health benefits, and generous PTO. Almost every aspect of the job is flexible except the work we need to do together.

The tech

We have started with a container-based infrastructure using consul, haproxy, and nginx to achieve automated discovery and registration of microservices on AWS. We strive to use the right tool for the job, including but not limited to Postgres, GO, Ruby, Obj-C, and Java. We’re pragmatic in our choices, not dogmatic, and know that the tech constantly evolves as our business grows. We expect the folks we hire to have a strong influence on our technical direction.

The location

We’d love to work with you in our office in Portland, Oregon, but we’ve all worked with remote teams before and we won’t let geography come between us.

Capsci Health, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin.
